Year of the Pig 1oz .9999 Antique Silver Round by Silver Bullet Silver Shield

Silver Bullet Silver Shield

The Year of the Pig

The "Year of the Pig" round is based on the ancient Chinese Lunar calendar. The design was inspired by the current financial crisis the world's economies are facing. Designed by master artist Alex Robledo. Represents the wealth inequality that exists throughout the world today and the insatiable appetite of the 1% to own and control more of the wealth and resources of the planet.

The Story
In a 2017 report by Oxfam found...
"Eight men own the same wealth as the 3.6 billion people who make up the poorest half of humanity".
New estimates show that just eight men own the same wealth as the poorest half of the world. As growth benefits the richest, the rest of society – especially the poorest – suffers. The very design of our economies and the principles of our economics have taken us to this extreme, unsustainable and unjust point.
"An economy for the 99 percent’, shows that the gap between rich and poor is far greater than had been feared. It details how big business and the super-rich arelling the inequality crisis by dodging taxes, driving down wages and using their power to influence politics. Billionaires around the world, who have almost doubled in number since the 2008 global financial crisis, saw their combined fortunes grow by $2.5day, while the 3.8 billion people at the bottom of the scale saw their wealth decline by 11 percent in 2018."
