Wounded Healers - Non Save

"Paramedics are our own worst critics, when it comes to questioning ourselves about a serious call.  Often I'll find a quiet corner to decompress after a call and go over every detail:

Did I follow my protocols properly?

Were my drug dosages correct?

Did I make a proper diagnosis?

At this time I'm also thinking of the family, knowing that when they're notified of this death their lives will be altered forever.  I don't know what's worse, feeling like I may have failed my patient...or failed their family."

  Daniel Sundahl

The Wounded Healers silver round series is intended to help create awareness and continued conversation about the challenges that first responders and medical professionals face. PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and mental stess injuries affect many first responders. Many suffer in silence and some unfortunately, turn to suicide. Our hope is that this piece will serve as a reminder that you are not alone and encourage you to go with the power of healing. A portion of every round  sold will be donated to Wounded Warriors Canada, whose mission is to “honour and support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.”

About the Mint: Pheli Mint

Pheli Mint is a private mint from Canada, founded by two friends, Phil and Eli, who share a passion for collectible silver rounds.

They are nurses who have worked in a variety of settings, including critical care and with high-risk populations. Phil is also an army reservist and spent over 10 years with his local volunteer fire department.

Both have firsthand experience of the challenges first responders and medical professionals face. They wanted to create a silver round series to pay tribute and raise awareness about PTSD and its effects.
